Metro Brands has appointed Manoj Juneja as chief business officer for its sports division as the footwear retailer looks to strengthen its presence in the sports and athleisure segment.

Juneja brings over 27 years of experience across the retail, footwear, fashion and consumer sectors. In his new role, he will lead Metro Brands’ sports portfolio, which includes FILA, New Era, Foot Locker and MetroActiv.

He will be responsible for driving the division’s expansion, strengthening brand partnerships, enhancing consumer experience and expanding its market presence through integrated retail and omnichannel strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Nissan Joseph, chief executive officer of Metro Brands, said that, “The sports and athleisure segment in India is witnessing strong momentum, driven by changing consumer lifestyles and growing demand for comfort-led products. He added that Juneja’s experience in the sports and retail industry would support the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the category.

Juneja said he looks forward to working with the team to expand the sports portfolio, enhance retail experiences and identify new growth opportunities.

Before joining Metro Brands, Juneja served as chief executive officer at Crocs India Marketing, where he led the Crocs and Hey Dude businesses.

As of March 31, 2026, Metro Brands operated 1,032 stores across 221 cities in 31 states and Union Territories. The company retails footwear through its in-house brands, including Metro Shoes, Mochi Shoes, Walkway, MetroActiv, Da Vinchi and J. Fontini, along with partner brands such as Crocs, FitFlop, FILA, New Era, Clarks, Skechers and Puma.
